Our Paver Installation Process
The quality of the work that is completed below the surface will determine the longevity of your project. A proper base will ensure that the freeze-thaw cycle will not affect the integrity of your pavers or walls, and will prevent settlement and shifting.
Excavation
Native soil excavation is the first step of construction. The depth will be determined by soil type and by the application; driveways and retaining walls, for instance, will need deeper excavations than patios or walkways.
Base Material
The excavated area will be backfilled and compacted in several layers with a base material that is both strong enough to handle the load of the material above it, and also free-draining, allowing water to move away from the surface.
Bedding Material
The right bedding material provides a smooth surface to lay pavers and allows water to drain quickly from the surface.
Edge Restraint
Edge restraint is installed along the perimeter of pavers and is secured by long spikes driven into the base material.
Joint Material
The right joint material locks the pavers into place and keeps the joints clean and weed-free for years to come.
We only work with the leading manufacturers of paver products, to ensure that our installations stand up to the test of time.
